I read this in the morning Metro this morning and HAD to share!
A woman from England says a severe migraine left her speaking with what sounds like a French accent! This condition has actually been identified as Foreign Accent Syndrome and there are only an estimated 60 cases in the world!
Watch this video to hear how she used to speak vs. how she speaks now!

That's so fascinating! I've never heard of that. But she doesn't sound French to me at all.

Wow... just weird! Poor woman... but i wonder why she lost her job or feels she lost her personality 'cuz of it? I don't by any way mean to diminish what she's going through, but a lot worse could happen due to a stroke or strain on the brain, no? And can't she listen to voice coach tapes to train herself back to speaking in the british accent? Actually wouldn't spending a few years listening to those around her automatically train her back to the accent she's born into?

I looked up her condition online and it seems that what she has is a speech impediment that only sounds like an accent. I guess it would be comparable to lisping?
She probably could get therapy for that but perhaps she just can't afford it.
