I just came across this article and thought it was an interesting read. All about retouching in fashion, for ads and magazines. I don't think that people realise how much is actually photoshopped in a magazine and not just photoshopping but the way they play with lighting or angles, nothing is really how it is in reality.
Check out the article here.
One of my favourite parts is when the author talks about mascara ads. Here is a quote: " I do work on a lot of cosmetics images, too, and the mascara ads are just ridiculous. They wear false eyelashes, of course, in the photoshoot, and we completely draw the lashes in one by one so it's just like a forest of eyelashes. That's like the biggest lie of all — you can't achieve that. "
What do you think of retouching and photoshopping?

But I've seen some pretty bad ones out there. When they photo shop beauty adds for mascara it blows my mind. People really think their going to get what they see and like he said there's no way they can when the models are all wearing false eyelashes. Now that's false advertising if you ask me. A lot of these places just go too far with it and it make's the ads look ridiculous.
