I never caught all the news this evening but,it announced that Wal-Mart is closing 200 of it's stores.I never caught where they are closing them to,I would guess all over the states and Canada.I hope they don't close the two of them that is about a ten minute drive from my home.I guess I should expect one of them but, hopefully not both.I was just wondering if any you chicks had any info to add?

I haven't heard anything about this. Considering how busy the Walmart where I live is, I'm surprised to hear it!

I hope they don't close any here! Although lately I find it so expensive!

They are closing 115 in the US and 60 in Brazil.
It said in the article I saw ( from a reliable news website) that Canada will not lose any stores.

Another corporation growing too quickly and in too many places, building up communities with jobs, and then taking it away (like Target).
We have TWO in Kanata (outside of Ottawa)....I go to the newer one because it is less crowded and the parking lot is more linear (it's a basic square vs the zigzagging claustophobic horrible lot of the older one). But there is still no reason why we have two. There aren't even 100,000 people living in this part of town.
Although it is a pain, I wish there were less of the same store within the same city limits. This would lead to less economic loss for the communities (as in job loss when slower stores close), and allow for more independent markets to come into play.

Glad it's not in Canada. I love my Walmart. I'm lucky enough to live within driving distance of a big mall with one!
