I just don't have the time and I don't really like getting them... they just clutter up my space and get thrown in the garbage... I'm a bit of a scrooge I guess but I get excited when I see an envelope and then I'm disappointed when I open it and it is just a Christmas card... then I feel guilty because I didn't send that person one... I would rather just skip the mess... it is stressful for nothing... what if I forget someone and they get insulted? no thanks.

@onimiki I never thought of it that way. I get lots of junk mail and bills ... I'm so excited when I get a Christmas card! Curious... what do you get in the mail that's exciting? I need some of that!

I guess what I meant by exciting mail is cards with gifts in them, I'm also a little obsessed with couponing so mail with coupons in it, free samples I've ordered etc... stuff like that...
Do You Send Out Christmas Cards on Dec 05, 2014 @ 08:31 pm
I send cards and letters to a Penpal in Australia and have done for a number of years. I send out Easter, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas cards especially to older friends and relatives. I also have a Secret Pal that I will send cards out to every month until next Christmas when she will find out who has been sending her cards. It is time consuming but I believe it is also very personal and people enjoy reading my letters as I have been told by a number of people over the years. I hate receiving e-cards as I think people are just being lazy.
i don't send out any on Dec 08, 2014 @ 11:10 pm
I don't send out any as I don't really have the money to. But I do like receiving them, especially when there's gift cards inside. I only keep the ones that have a nice design on the front and I use them the next year as well for decoration. But the others, if they just have your standard signed name at the bottom like the person couldn't be bothered to write their own thoughts down, I toss those.

Yes I do not to everyone but to my friends out of town just to let them know I am thinking of them.
Yessss! on Dec 10, 2014 @ 10:48 pm
I only send Christmas cards to my extended family who does not live within the same province. It's a nice way to send small gifts too like stickers and gift cards.

I still send cards in the mail because I love the feeling of getting mail, knowing someone took the time to think of me, write up a card and most importantly mailed it. I also have a lot of friends and relatives back east and its much more personable than sending a group holiday email...
I do my best to on Dec 12, 2014 @ 06:55 am
Esp. with my immediate family since I moved away. Last year, they didn't receive my Christmas cards when there was an ice storm. That made me feel kind of sad since they were homemade cards and I personalized them. I don't have the time this year to do it again. With Canada Post slowly dying, it makes me more sad that things are changing. Also, my sister is going through a marriage break up and for some reason my cards don't seem to reach her. The e-mails are a better choice now. I've had my share of writing up Christmas cards for my parents when I was younger. I will send my parents a Christmas card now that I have the time to. What's the postage now? I have 63 cents stamps leftover or I have some Permanent stamps. OMG, its been that long since I send a letter in the post!

I don't send Christmas Cards out,I never did.One reason is that I have no-one living away to send them to.I do however give out Christmas Cards.I give them to all my Family who lives very close to me and as for my Friends, they live pretty close also.In their case,I give them a Card when I see them over the Holidays when I visit them.
