Flattering Bikinis

So we're going to the Caribbean at the end of April.

OMG OMG OMG OMG SO EXCITED.
Ahem. Sorry.

Anyway, of course this is the perfect opportunity to shop for a new bathing suit! I prefer bikinis - I don't know why. I just feel the most comfortable in them. But my questions is which bikini bottom is best for pear shaped bodies? I'll probably head to Victoria's Secret as I don't want to spend a fortune on anything and you can mix and match tops and bottoms. I've tried to do research  on the internet but nothing has been helpful and I think what I've bought in the past could be more flattering so I don't think I even have a reference point.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Short shorts!!! on Mar 29, 2012 @ 09:44 pm

String bikinis are not flattering for pear shapes. I suggest cute boy/booty shorts (to show off your booty, of course!) or regular bikini bottoms

Bonus! most short shorts will also have a small pocket, so you can always carry some lip balm, or I.D. or your phone!

Go into a store... on Mar 30, 2012 @ 07:18 am

that specializes in swim wear and have them help you find witch suit not
only looks best on you, but fits you the best. That's all they do so
they know who looks the best in what. I'm not saying you have to buy
from them, just get some help that you can keep in your mind and that
can keep you on track when you're shopping at what ever store you want
to. Its just like having a proper bra fitting done. My Aunt walked
around in a bra that was three sizes to small for her until she went on a
cruse to Spain. When she was there a lady garbed off the street and
pulled her into her shop. She told her she'd fix her up and my Aunt was
in shock when she found out how much bigger she really was and how much
more comfortable she was. We're all different so having a good fitting
done is always best for things like this.

I agree with @Takoda. Go into a store and get a fitting done so you know what to look for. Don't feel pressured to buy if you don't want to but at least get the ideas and knowledge so you can go into any store and know what will suit your body and make you look fab!

Thanks for the tip on going to a bathing suit store! I think I'll do that then take that information to a more student-budget-friendly store. I'm so excited to go bathing suit/beach hat shopping. The nice weather is putting me in a major mood for sun.
