With interest rates so low, a little difference seems to make a big difference on my ability to leverage the magic of compounding. I've found I can call and negotiate the interest on my savings account at Tangerine. Does anyone know of any other financial institutions that let you do that?

I didn't know you could. I'm going to call my bank and see if they do that.

I didn't know you could do that on a savings account I know you could do it for credit cards to try and negotiate a lower interest rate
|I didn't know either until they sent my husband an offer of a better rate on Feb 15, 2016 @ 07:26 pm|
and so I called to get the same rate and had to tell them about a bank offering a better promotional rate elsewhere ( PC Financial was offering a really good rate at the time) It made/makes a huge difference.
The posted Tangerine rate is 0.8% and I am getting over 2% for a six month period.
