Hi Ali and ChickAdvisor Team!! I'm curious to see how/where/when ChickAdvisor member's learned about and joined the site. I don't recall, is that a poll question that gets asked when a new user signs up? Have you guys taken any such statistics? If this isn't something your team has worked on yet, I'd be happy to help somehow ... not sure how, but I'm willing!

Ah, yes, you help simply by asking :) We put up that poll every now and then. We keep our poll results so we can see how things change. The last time we put that up was a couple of weeks ago. But this is always a fascinating topic for us.
Why don't you guys say where you heard about us here? It's so cool to hear how you found it!

I was googling (oh that sounds wrong lol) for a makeup forum. I had already been a member of a handful of other communities in the past but didn't want to return to any of them; they just didn't "feel" right, and I had never really enjoyed being a member to most of those communities. So I figured it'd been long enough there had to be some new ones around. I checked out a couple others before finding Chick Advisor and I really liked the layout and the feel of the whole site. The rest, as they say, is history. =D

Since I google pretty much everything before I buy, I was looking for reviews on either restaurants or skincare products when I found Chick Advisor. After reading almost everything that I might possibly want to buy, I decided to take the plunge and write my first reviews online.

I work a computer job where the instant messaging ports are blocked. When I learned that, I did some searching on the internet and came across meebo, a chat web site that uses normal web page ports so its not detected as a chat program. Meebo has small announcements that appear every few days. Back in March 2007 a message explained about a recent trip/meeting where meebo developers mingled w/ ChickAdvisor developers. I checked out ChickAdvisor and was instantly drawn to it. I am not your typical girly girl, so I feel like my dormant girly side lives on vicariously through this web site! :-) Also, I dabble in web development myself, and really like the look, feel, and scope of chickadvisor.com: well laid out, very functional, up to date w/ current web technology, and just plain aesthetically pleasing.

I found Meebo in one of my geek mags and signed up for an account (mostly because I appreciated the fact it was useful when traveling . . . and when using computers that didn't allow chat software downloads).
I saw the post like Spotty in their blog pop-up and followed it . . . and loved the concept !!!
Because everyone ( especially Miss Chickie ) seemed so receptive and genuinely appreciated the tips I offered - I kept coming back ;-)
But, I ask - how can you stay away ???

I was actually googling my doctor to get her phone number, and I noticed that someone wrote a review on her...which brought me here. :)

ChickAdvisor was featured on the school newspaper. Eyeopener or Ryersonian? I'm not sure! But was I ever glad I found it! :)

I heard about it at Flirty Girl Fitness and have been hooked ever since! :o)
