Privacy Policy

I was just wondering if there was any way of protecting personal information or having some sort of privacy policy on ChickAdvisor. It is only because anyone (who has not signed in or not a member) can still access the pages...

I actually thought of this too... on Jan 25, 2007 @ 02:31 pm

I haven't really written anything too controversial on the ChickChat forums but I was wondering this as well. On the off chance that somenone knows I am a member it means they can see all I write on the forums without themselves being a member...right?

Hmmm Good points! on Jan 25, 2007 @ 05:11 pm

Currently anyone can read anything. I'll just take a little informal poll here. How many of you would prefer if people had to sign in to view the forums?

Good idea! on Jan 25, 2007 @ 06:07 pm

I would prefer you had to sign in to read forums. I don't write stuff in the relationship section because I have many many people who know I am on this website and I don't write about certain things because I know it could be read by some of them! I don't think you should have to log in to just go through the site but for the forum stuff I think it would be better. :o)

misschickie, I think that would be a great idea. It is only because you never know who is online.. and who is viewing posts or reviews for that matter. And also, this way they will be forced to become members to read the reviews!!!!!

only a bandaid solution, I'm afraid on Jan 25, 2007 @ 10:37 pm

Even pervs can make a profile and still get in to read our thoughts. signing in wouldn't change that. however, it would make it less convenient for them, and they may be less tempted because of it. i guess i just don't really think it would make a huge difference. maybe it would be cool if we had the option of using an anonymous profile (like blogger has) to post sensitive comments, but still have to log in to utilize that.

That is not a bad idea at all...the anonymous thing, if you want to say something or rant about something and protect your anonymity....

behold! I have devised a solution in less than a min on Jan 26, 2007 @ 10:15 am

hello ladies,
THE ChickAdvisor geek coder here ...

implementing this feature into forums is as easy as changing a number from 0 to 9
i can't tell you what that means (ChickAdvisor secret) ... then i would have to kill you ;)
