I'm traveling to Puerto Vallarta next week and would like to know if anyone knows whether it is worth it to buy tequila at the source or is it just as inexpensive at the airport? Is there a good selection at duty free or should I look elsewhere? Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm not sure about Puerto Vallarta exactly, but when I went to Cuba it was cheaper to buy it at the source. It ended up being like $3 Canadian for a 750mL bottle of rum, which here I'd probably pay $22-26 dollars for something of the same quality.
I'm sure by now you've already been there, so what did you find? Was it better at the source or the airport, or the same? Hope you had fun on your trip!

we stayed just outside Puerto Vallarta in Punta de Mita. Our resort was the only one on the peninsula. Area trips were all over $100 so we stayed on resort. We purchased our tequila at the airport. Prices vary widely depending what kind of tequila you're looking for. I'm not an expert so I found a locally made, mid-price bottle.
There is a tequila store upstairs but don't stop there. We did because we didn't see anything else. They were helpful and you could taste the different kinds available but if you wait until you go through customs, there are duty free stores on the other side with better prices and way more selection. They carry Patron and other well known brands.
