Go to Shanghai, it's polluted but the shopping is great, the culture is amazing, and it's always a party.

Very tough decision. I'll have to go with Slovenija, I've been twice and it's so beautiful, I love the culture, plus I have family there. Disney World and Jamaica are the runner ups!

A few years ago I spent a week in Rome with a university friend. After that, we spent 6 weeks in a very very small town in the Tuscany region at a bioarchaeological field school. I had the absolute time of my life! On the weekends we were allowed to travel because we could just hope on the train. I ended up going on day drips to Florence twice, Lucca twice, and another place once.
I consider myself so fortunate to be able to have the experience. I got to do so much, see so much, and meet so many amazing people. Not to mention the food was amazing, the people were great, and the wine! Oh, the wine!
I want to go back some day and bring my husband. We'll see if the finances will ever allow that. I wish!

|vacation. on Mar 25, 2015 @ 10:22 am|
I have been to some great work-related places (not so much vacation) that were very enjoyable - and my favourite was probably Hong Kong. Hot, humid weather, my favourite foods, shopping, and incredible sights - I cannot wait to go back in 3 weeks!
As for "vacation" vacation - though I have been to NYC many times before for work, I got to visit this past summer with family and had a chance to do all sorts of touristy stuff like see a Broadway show and visit the aviation museum. From there my partner and I road-tripped to Ontario and then all the way back to NB and NS - it was a great (long) summer adventure filled with family and friends, my favourite type of vacation no matter where it is.

Hong Kong sounds interesting. It must be exciting to travel for work. I wish I could travel everywhere.

For a hot, relaxing beach vacation I would have to go with Cuba! Beaches, Sun and the Local People are wonderful. Inexpensive and not a very long flight!

A fav for me was travelling thru the length of England and Scotland to a city on the shore of the Moray Firth . Def fond memories of the beauty, accents of the people and uniqueness of the journey...
