Chantal is the first to meet Brad's family- his mother, two brothers (and their wives). She is vibrant, and loud and constantly expresses her feelings for Brad. She makes it very known that she wants to marry Brad, IMMEDIATELY! Brad's family responds very well to Chantal and they have lively conversations. She shares a one on one with Brads mother, where she answers some tough questions.
Emily is the second to meet Brad's family. They immediately notice the drastic personality difference between the two ladies. Emily- being the more reserved and shy lady. Brad's brother Wes asks Emily is her daughter dad would mind if she moved to Austin to live with Brad, and Emily begins telling the story about her boyfriend who passed. They are all very touched by it, and start warming up to Emily. Brads brothers question Brad's ability to deal with a child, but he assures them that he is ready for a wife, child; the whole package!
Brad's family makes it very clear that Emily is definitely the right woman for him.
Chantal gets the first of the 'last chance' dates. They spend the first part on a yacht, and Brad surprises Chantal by making them 'swim' with great white sharks. Really, they are just in a cage looking at a shark swimming around...The second part of their date is a typical one on one date. Chantal continues the tradition by giving Brad a personalized gift. She makes him a little 'message in a bottle', with a map of all the places they've been to together and a letter of her 'deepest' feelings.
The second date is with Emily. They begin their date with a helicopter ride over Cape Town. They land in Cape Hope where they overlook some stunning scenery, and chat about their readiness to become a family. Emily questions Brad ability to adjust to fatherhood instantly, from bachelorhood. I don't understand Brad's behavior; he looks flustered, and upset about ..nothing? He claims he was "slapped in the face, and is profoundly hurt and upset" He says he is defeated...WHY? All she did was warn him about what it's really like to be a dad, that it's not all like Christmas morning, or the first bike ride--there are sick days and others downs with the ups. Brad just became way too dramatic, and sensitive. Sorry Brad, but I didn't really see the need for your bad acting.
The ladies look beautiful for the final rose; Chantal with a one shoulder, feather detailed black number, and Emily with a stunning and angelic white gown.
Uh OH! Chantal steps out of the limo first. Generally, in Bachelor history, this is the lady that gets the boot...let's see what happens. And this is how he breaks it to her..."I don't know how else to say it, except for I have stronger feelings for someone else". Instant waterworks.
To be honest, this is the least creepy Brad has been the whole season--maybe he has grown!
Well, I guess Emily's white dress should've been a clue, no? Or perhaps that the final rose setting is on a vineyard, and that's where Brad and Emily's first date was...OR that his family told him to marry Emily.
Is it just me or was that a pretty good speech? Not bad from awkward Brad. Well... I guess that's it for the 100000th season of The Bachelor.
After the final Rose:
Chantal says that she feels that he is discounting their experience and feelings, which he seems to be (in my opinion). He keeps saying that he wanted her to stick around, but seems to forget about the fact that he acted very similarly to her as he did to Emily. He's a little bit of a jerk to Chantal if you ask me.
Chantal shares her own happy news, about the new man in her life.
Brad says that he is more in love with Emily today than ever before.
Chris lets everyone know that they broke up.
Brad talks about the trials and tribulations they've had to go through since the final rose.
Brad is glowing with love for Emily-- seems like he can't get enough of her. He's completely smitten.
Show ends with a visit from past 'successful' couples from the past (The Bachelor).

I didn't watch last night but I heard the 'purposal' on the radio... I can see why this guy has been getting a lot of negativity, he sounds kind of awkward and almost creepy.

I liked Emily's hair colour way better in the After the Final Rose special than during the show, it was so blonde before, it almost distracted from how twitchy Brad is when he's nervous. Almost.

Couldn't agree with you more Siofan! I thought she looked less Barbie-esque, and her natural beauty shined through!
Speaking of hair, I don't know if any of you have watched Trista and Ryan from the beginning, but every time Trista makes an appearance, she has new hair. Last nights was by far my favorite- that poor girl has had some really bad hair days!

I wasn't surprised when it came to light that Brad had a temper though. You could totally see that a few times in the show when he reacted so aggressively any time he was questioned. You could literally see the steam coming out of his ears. I imagine he wouldn't be a fun one to argue with!

I didn't watch but 2 of the episodes this time around, but based on what I saw on "After the Final Rose" I have my doubts about this working out. Just a wrong vibe or something... I feel like he thought he had something to prove - if he once again picked nobody, he'd be roasted by everyone.
