I found these swaddle blankets extremely effective at first. However, my son is extremely long..so I didn't get as much use out of them as i'd hoped. I found he could break out of them by the time he was 2 and a half months. A large blanket was more effective than these as long as it was the right material.
Nothing is more annoying then getting your baby saddled for the night and then it coming undone. These saddles are awesome because.they have velcro to keep them secure and you don't have to worry about baby getting caught in a loose blanket
A had a blanket very similar to this when my boy’s were babies and I loved it. It was so easy to get the baby wrapped up nice a tight the way they do at the hospital. My boys were always much happier to be wrapped up, then to be in a lose blanket for the first few months. They say that swaddling is one of the most recommended - and proven - ways to calm and soothe young babies. It's also a technique that can reduce over-stimulation of baby's immature nervous system. This blanket was made to help you swaddle your baby in three easy steps. It’s made with organic fabric, it has self-fastener tabs that provide a snug comfy fit every time, and its pre-shaped pocket prevents baby from kicking it off. Your baby can enjoy the benefits of being cozy and comfortable while sleeping - and parents enjoy the confidence that comes from knowing baby is snug and secure. I was told this works so well because it reminds your baby of still being nice a cozy inside of you. You have to remember your baby was in a pretty tight place first a few months and felt safe there. So when they do arrive being swaddled up makes them more comfortable and helps them to sleep and it helps to keep them calm.
