This camera is so small at 4” x 1.75” x ¾” – and is definitely easy to hide away inconspicuously!
The lens flips around almost 180 degrees, allowing for it to fit in a variety of locations.
The motion detector is pretty cool – we were able to film the dogs run arounds in the living room, and the remainder of the day there was no filming – in other words, the dogs were sleeping!
We also set it up in the bird room to go off for an hour a day to see how silly the parrots are – and they certainly are chatty while we’re at work. We even caught our African Grey bopping away to some old school rap music on his own – so cute! Albeit slightly fuzzy, you can still get a picture of what is going on.
The Microphone was a bit trickier to figure out, but we eventually got it working, and had both grainy picture and sound.
I really like that there is a setting to start filming when there is either sound or movement – great for small businesses without a surveillance camera or someone trying to catch their children, friends, or even souse doing something they ought to or should not be doing – so sneaky and sleuthy!
You can choose day or night mode, video quality (low, medium, high), and horizontal or vertical filming. You can choose pre-programmed settings or Custom settings once you are more comfortable with how the camera works.
The ability to hold a 64GB Micro SD Card is sweet – and that we can tape for up to 64 hours before it loops – just about as good as a local security camera in a small store set up.
The rechargeable battery is a great feature – and the fact that we can just plug it into a charging station or computer vs a big clunky wall charger (that normally gets lost for electronics we don’t use on a regular basis) ensures that we will never be without a charger! I really like that it can also sit for upwards of 3 or 4 months without use, and still hold a charge.
Husband was impressed at how easily he was able to figure the camera out, and most of its uses. It was super simple to link to the computer via its USB cord and watch the camera recordings on it. A cute tiny Driver disk is included, however a support website with downloadable software is also provided just in case.
The plastic seems quite durable and should hold up to some falls. The USB cord is nice and thick with durable ends – a sign of quality.
Overall, if you own a small business with no security system or cameras, are worried about what a family member or friend does in your home while you are not there, or even trying to be sleuthy about where someone is going (camera hidden in car), or want to watch what your animals do while you are away, you can be your own detective with this camera!
