Lyric is the latest from Amouage, a high end perfume that is available only in select boutiques. It is a floral oriental fragrance inspired by the Rose that features:

Base: Oakmoss, Musk, Wood, Patchouli, Vetiver, Sandalwood, Vanilla, Tonka bean, Frankincense
I was introduced to this perfume by attending the launch at Andrews in Yorkville where I met the perfume's creator, Christopher Chong who shared some of the inspiration behind it. He told me about water nymphs and fairies and roses, while spraying my arms with the womens and mens versions. Some women like to wear the men's version and some men even like wearing the women's scent, he explained, depending on how it mixes with their body chemistry. I left in a cloud of fragrance and on the way home received a compliment from a stranger in the elevator about my perfume. It's hard to know which he was referring to, since I was wearing the entire Amouage line on both arms. I prefer Lyric above the others in the line.
This is a very concentrated Eau de Parfum, therefore one tiny spritz lasts all day long. This also makes it quite pricey at about $300 for a 100ml bottle.
So what does $300 smell like? Intoxicating, intense, sexy. I will admit when it was first sprayed on I thought it was too strong. I don't like my perfume to enter the room before me. But as it settled into my skin, it mellowed into a very sexy intoxicating scent. My husband really likes it. I would say this is great for anyone in the 25 - 35 age range as an evening perfume. You really need to give it at least an hour before you judge it. My current favourite perfume is Bond No 9 Nuits de Noho (also available at Andrews).
I recommend Lyric to anyone looking for a truly original beautiful perfume.
