I haven't really straightened my hair much since getting it cut short, but since I have naturally wavy hair I like having the option to straighten it for a different look. My hair is pretty thick, so I was really surprised at how well this straightener functioned. It really did give me poker straight hair.

The back of the straightener does get a bit hot (as with straighteners I've used in the past), but they include a heat resistant glove, so you can wear that if you feel concerned. I also love, love, love that it comes with a heat resistant bag. I'm pretty paranoid about fires and it can sometimes be hard to find a surface to safely leave a straightener on while it cools, so I love being able to rest it on the bag. They also include two hair clips, which are a must for proper straightening if you have thick hair!

The cord is a good length and swivels really well too. I'd recommend reading the manual so you don't get confused by the 'lock' feature. Overall, just a really impressive straightener that has different levels of heat and a lot of cool accessories!
