I have lanky long straight hair that just falls flat without some sort of heat application. I have recently taken to hair straighteners – and felt the Apalus was a great price point to start with.

This straightener comes with a plethora of accessories – including a bag that comes apart at the sides with Velcro, and doubles as a safe place to lay the straightener while I reclip my hair during the drying and straightening process.

There are two handy hair clips that are relatively thick and durable – allowing for me to clip multiple layers as I work from the lower part of my head to the top. They hold my hair without any slippage due to the crocodile style teeth.

There is also one heat resistant glove for those of us who are accident prone – this is beneficial when I am doing the back of my head and cannot really see what I am doing.

I get confused by the Farenheit to Celcius conversions in my head, so I appreciate that you can change the temperature setting from Farenheit to Celsius easily by holding down the Plus and Minus buttons at the same time for a few seconds. This is a feature I have not seen in other straighteners in this price range (upwards to $150).

I admit, I also used it in a pinch to grab a hot pot off the stove – and it kept my fingers sae and unburned! I love multi use items!

The cord is really thick, and the plug is superior quality, reminding me of a salon quality plug, with a reset on it in case water accidentally splashes it.

The heating plate is made of fibreglass, meaning my hair does not smell like a burning inferno, and I can use it on my hand dried hair while it is still damp – saving the Blow Drying Step! It even heats up quickly (about 45 to 60 seconds), and if I get distracted in the morning it lowers the temperature until I come back to it.

I can easily dry and straighten my hair, giving it fullness and a silky appearance, in about 7 to 8 minutes – which is pretty amazing! My morning routine has to be quick and efficient – this iron definitely helps me look professional in a fair amount of time.

My hair has not suffered lack of lustre or gotten brittle since I started using this iron several weeks ago, so overall I am pleased with the final result, and am impressed that it is at such an affordable price for a salon quality appliance.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting beautiful hair without suffering damages from the heating process.

**** I received this product at a reduced or no cost for my fair and fabulous review ***
