I got this product with the advice of a friend who used to have problem skin. I used to have a lot of breakouts a few years back, and this product has helped me clear my skin (along with several other products!). I use this product nightly after cleansing to remove the excess dirt from my pores (I can actually see the dirt removed when I use a cotton pad) and that is how I know it's working!
