After my Palm Pre bit the dust and was no longer available, I decided to try the overly hyped Blackberry. My selection was the purple Blackberry Curve 8520.

The look and feel: I hated. Coming from my Pre, the Blackberry felt cheap and I was scared I would break it.

Performance: I was not impressed. From the very day I got my phone 1.5 years ago, it has always froze and required a battery pull to bring it around. I find it very limiting with it's options for web browsers, and do not care for how it works with Wi-Fi.

It is however still working, so it's lasted longer than I thought it would. I'm one eager chick to see this contract go by faster - good-bye Blackberry!

Wouldn't buy again, and wouldn't recommend. Sorry Blackberry!

I was a blackberry curve girl for years. Briefly switched to the iPhone, then went back to blackberry, but I'm now back with the iPhone again after blackberry wasn't able to keep up with the fun features on the iPhone in the years my contract was going on.
One big plus about this is the sturdy construction. The curves are built to last and the only issue I ever had with the older models are the need to clean the trackball every once in awhile. The newer curve models that got rid of the trackball worked even better. The buttons make it easy to text and reply to emails so the blackberry is still great for business users. But the limited selection of fun apps and the lack of convenient navigation from websites to contacts to messages made me go back to Apple again.

Hope blackberry is able to get things together again since I would be willing to retry them again after years of being a loyal curve user.
