The jar has a removable plastic cover that allows you to pour out the amount of powder you need. Generally about a dime size amount worked onto a cleansed wet face or clean moist fingers does the trick. You can even add the powder to the tsubuki face oil for maximum hydration. The powder forms into a paste with thickness that varies with amount used. If you need more exfoliation then use extra powder. The powder is gentle and has that fabulous scent similar to the Tsubaki Face Oil which can be likened to a refreshing rose scented floral. While the powder doesn't technically lather up like a traditional cleanser it does build up to a creamy lather. I also want to point out that the exfoliating action is not typical of a mechanical scrub but rather more similar to a chemical exfoliator. Meaning it has gentle peeling action that removes dead skin cells and debris without any irritating bead particles. This is perfect for people with sensitive skin (such as myself) or anyone who would like a break from course scrub products. This is so gentle you might not believe it's working but it really does clear dull skin. It made my face feel super soft, squeaky clean and non-drying. I also love the natural ingredients used in this product and it's a great per-treatment before applying the Boscia Tsubuki face oil. I'm glad that the bottle is large enough to last quite some time because you seriously need a small amount of powder per single use as well as being budget friendly. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who needs gentle cleansing for a fresh glowing face.
