We have a 2006 Honda Civic Sedan, which is a fairly compact car, so we were looking for a convertible car seat that would take up the least foot print. This seat retails for $399.

The seat itself is very easy to install and change in recline. This seat rear faces until 40 llbs and has a variety of reclines (perfect for extended rearfacing with an average sized child). To change the seat from rear facing to forward facing is also very simple. I also like that there is no rethreading of the harness since the harness moves as the back of the seat moves up and down to adjust for height.

The seat itself fit very nicely behind the passenger seat. I was able to get the seat almost all the way back but had to pull up the head rest, which is great for my very tall (6'1") husband (keep in mind that it was second from the highest sitting setting so if it is for a newborn then it will take more space since it would be more reclined). While sitting in the drivers seat (as a very short 5'1" woman) I was still able to do a nice shoulder check.

The seat itself curves out in such a way that if you are looking to add another car seat, it would be very difficult to do with this seat. The anti-rebound bar (the big marketed feature of the seat) was more annoying than anything and if we don't want to use it then it would need to always be tethered from the top. Other seats are equally as safe and have their own mechanisms so it isn't really that great of a feature, in my opinion.

While I understand the safety feature of the absorbing harness pads I found that these were more of a nuisance in allowing me to adjust the harness to being the correct tightness.

Overall: Very safe seat and very easy to install. Fits great in compact vehicles (as long as you only plan on using only one at a time). Some of the features that are there to improve the safety of the seat are actually quite annoying. We went with a different car seat because of those features.
