I received Cleopatra’s Choice 100% Pure African Shea Butter in the mail a while ago to test and write an honest review. I received the Ivory color as you can see by the picture above it arrived in a 1lb./450 gram resealable and recyclable tub.

Helps treat dreak ( I assume they meant dark?) spots, skin discolorations, stretch marks and blemishes.
Fair trade product – produced by women subsistence farmers in Ghana, Africa.
Also great for preventing wrinkles by keeping facial skin moisturized and for use as a lip balm.
The product itself is a hard waxy type product. At first I was wondering how I was going to get it out of the jar to use, let alone rub into my skin.
I checked out some information and according to their Amazon.com page:
Important: Shea butter has a very low melting point, which means that while it can be hard at room temperature it softens up very quickly from your touch. It’s important to store in a cool dry place to prevent melting especially during summer months. Warm up with your hands and apply to the area you wish to moisturize. Rub the Shea Butter in till absorbed. Enjoy a long lasting hydration that comes only from Pure and Natural Shea Butter!
I dug a little bit out of the container to try.
I did find that it began melting as soon as I started working it through my fingers, it softened very quickly.
Surprisingly it rubbed into my skin very easily. It never left any sort of residue, it was not greasy. (I dislike greasy products so much so was super happy about this).
I used to to rub into my legs and feet, and applied some to elbows and knees. Again it rubbed in great. I have very dry feet in the winter, so I found that it moisturized very well and am looking forward to using this daily to see if I can get rid of the dryness for good. I also applied it as a lip balm, I found it great.
I also have some stretch marks and scars that I am going to be applying this to. I am curious to see if it will minimize the look of them. I will definitely update at a later date to see if I find a difference.
According to Amazon.com Cleopatra’s Choice Shea Butter is used by top skin care Do it yourself experts for soaps, lotions, butter and more.
I actually want to try making a soap or lotion out of it. Maybe add some nice scents as the only thing I was not fussy about was the natural scent of the Shea butter.
Cleopatra’s Choice has a guarantee. As stated on Amazon.com:
THE GUARANTEE: We are so confident that you will LOVE our Pure Shea Butter we stand by it with a 100% Unconditional Money Back Guarantee. If you don’t feel this is the BEST Shea Butter you have ever tried we will refund your money no questions asked
All in all I found it to be a great product, it rubbed in nicely and definitely moisturized my skin. I am looking forward to seeing what else I can do with this great product.
