First let me say, if you liked the tv series the books are different. Similar but different.
It was Okay. Just okay.
The characters lacked something. Substance.
The dialog was meh.
I am not sure if I will read the second book and this really did not do much for me.
I loved the show Dexter. The books, not so much. The book does not portray him the same, he seems very cold in the books, and sort of a lovable serial killer in the series. The book is worth the price paid, and the time to read it, as it is a good book, but not as good as the series.
OK, if you love the television show Dexter starring Michael C Hall on Showtime and you love to read. You need to pick up Jeff Lindsay’s books series that it’s based on. It’s so much fun reading the mystery of him hunt down the serial killers, deal with his daily life and relationships. But the story lines are quite different from the show so you won’t be bored and expect everything. Some characters are killed off and some are described different or have another story path. Either way I am really enjoying this series on cold, rainy days..
