I tried both the chocolate flavour and caramel flavour and hated both. The taste was awful, very artificial tasting and chalky. The texture was just plain weird. It was very hard to clean the mug out even though it was greased. Great idea, but the execution...not so much.

I got a FPC as well for this Dr.Oetker mug cake.I picked the Chocolate sensation pack.It comes with 2 x 90 g packs. You grease a mug,add one pack and 5 tbsp of milk and mix until well blended it suggest to whisk for better perfection but there's no way I could get a whisk in the mug so I used a fork.I felt like I was blending forever it didn't seem to mix quick enough. You then bake this this in the microwave for 1 minute and 15 seconds. After that time I took it out of the microwave and the cake totally sunk back in from being puffed up and over the rim.I put it in for another 15 seconds.

It was convenient being in a mug and a single serving. But it had a funny smell and the chocolate tasted really chalky the texture as well was strange I kept feeling like it wasn't cooked properly. When I got down to the bottom it seemed even more uncooked so I ended up throwing what was left away. The taste lingers in your mouth and not in a good way and that funny smell lingers in the air for a long time. The mug was a caked on mess literally!I really had to soak it for a long time so in the end it was not to convienent.Sorry Dr.Oetker you do have some good products but this one is not a winner.I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
