A classic holiday movie. I grew up watching snl with my family so it was perfect when a snl star made a Christmas movie for us to share. It's absolutely ridiculous but adorable at the same time. I'm a fan of Zoey too. It's one of the movie you need to be in the mood for but it is still a good one to watch during the holidays.

Elf is a cute Christmas movie starring Will Farrell, Bob Newhart, James Caan, and Zooey Deschanel.

Buddy (Farrell) is a human raised at the North Pole by an elf (Newhart). Believing himself to simply be an oversized clumsy elf, he is thrown when the truth is revealed, setting off a personal journey to discover his roots. His reception by his real father (Caan) is awkward, but through the help of a new friend (Deschanel), Buddy finds out where he belongs and what is really important.

This is a very sweet, though over-the-top naive film with plenty of laughs. Bob Newhart is especially endearing and Zooey Deschanel is just as cute as can be. A very solid family-friendly movie pick - I recommend it!
