Frank Organic Waste Bags are 100% compostable and that is exactly what we use them for, to compost our food scraps. The bag may seem flimsy to the eye, but it's actually very sturdy. I've never encountered a problem with it ripping even when it's super heavy. I did have trouble at the beginning trying to open up the bags but I soon found that wetting my fingers helps split the seam apart. I just wish the price would be lower, especially since I use up at least 2 per day. I have to get the small size because that's what fits my compost bin, but the medium or large sizes would probably be more convenient. In general, they are well made and fit the purpose of keeping your waste contained and mess free.
