I've been using this product now for a couple of weeks and can't say I'm overly impressed, unfortunately.

The issues I have with it are the following.

Firstly, I've been using Ojon products on my hair for about 6 months. My hair has been the best it has ever been in my life. Full of incredible body, shiny, soft and stays clean much longer between washes. But, as soon as I started using this product, my hair immediately went back to being thin and lifeless. I also had to go back to washing my hair daily, meaning of coutse my color would fade much faster. Obviously defeating the purpose of the product. Strike one.

The second issue I have with it is the fact that my rich brown color that I got from the Garnier hair color didn't last any longer than normal. It just as quickly faded to a very reddish brown, as it always does.

The claims made as to keeping the hair soft also didn't hold water with me. My hair was far softer before I starter using the Color Shield. It also was not shiny by any stretch of the imagination and I found my hair to be LESS manageable than when using my Ojon products.

I've also got concerns with the ingredients. On the front of the label it's stated there us acai Berry extract and grape seed oil in it. But when I read the actual list of ingredients, propylene glycol is the 3rd one on the list. Dimethicone is 4th on the list. Making it yet another silicone based product that we women don't need. Was super unhappy to see that. The acai and grape seed oil are way too far down the list to be effective in any way. It seems acai is the latest hype ingredient the cosmetic and hair care companies are using. Then they just add a token amount so they can legally list it on the label. Not impressive.

The last issue I have with the product itself is the super artificial fragrance. I very much dislike the smell. When I use the product, I feel like I'm walking around reeking of cheap hair care products. The fragrance is so utterly unnecessary and off putting. Why claim to have natural ingredients and then make it smell so God awful? I was shocked at the smell the first time I used it, and my husband kept asking me to go back to using 'the nice smelling stuff' (Ojon product line).

The final issue I have with it is the horrific packaging. Dear mother of God, screaming fuschia pink plastic with a bright green label and top? What was the company thinking? I saw it in my local store on the shelf and immediately thought 'dammmmm that looks like the CHEAPEST product I've ever seen!'

Between the lack of results, the same old chemical, yucky-hair-coating ingredients, the cheap smell and very cheap looking presentation, I unfortunately cannot and would not recommend this product to anyone, not at any price. I'm very happily back to using my Ojon products and won't be using this product again for any reason.

Sorry, Garnier :-( I appreciated being chosen for the review, but I simply cannot lie when it comes to the quality of a product. Women spend far too much of their hard earned money on products of questionable quality as it is.

I was quite impressed with the Garnier Fructis Colour Shield Instant Colour Sealer. I got to try it out as part of a package...hair colour, shampoo, conditioner and colour sealer. The products all worked well together as part of the "system" I used the colour sealer after my hair was freshly coloured, after washing hair and also on dry hair. The colour shield was light and easy to use. I found that a little bit goes a long way. I've nerver used a product like this before and I feel that it has indeed, helped my colour to remain fresh looking and shiny. Also, it's very helpful in smoothing frizzy hair.

I was one of the lucky ones selected to review this product, and am really glad I was. I've been colouring my hair at home for a couple of years now, but have never stuck to one brand..
Very glad to have tried this series of products. The colour was great, it covered my grey really well. After the 2nd colouring when I started to use the shampoo, conditioner and colour shield, I found the colour stayed more true to the colour after just dying my hair. The products smell good and felt good. I use the Colour Shield sparingly, so haven't found it greasy or sticky as others have.
I would definitely consider buying this brand of products regularly in the future, not just buying what is on sale.

Hello everyone - just want to let you know that this is a great product. Why? Well, first of all, it does hold the color - my hair tends to loose color by at least half the intensity by the end of the second week after colouring with most products. The Fructis Color Shield sealer made a real difference in that it held in the warmth of the Champagne Fizz shade that I selected, right up to the time for the next application. It didn't fade and it didn't turn yellowy as time went on. The formula is very lightweight and doesn't drag down my hair. I can style it up in curls or flatten it down into a straight look, and it doesn't effect the bouncy soft look and feel of clean hair. My hair stays soft and shiny, which is really important if you're going for that healthy look. Is the because it's infused with acai berry and grapeseed oil extracts? I don't know. But natural is good. It's a good product ...

I received the Garnier Nutrisse in Dark Chocolate along with the Colour Shield Shampoo, Conditioner, and Instant Colour Sealer as part of the Product Review Club.

I've always seen the colour protection products on the shelves and never took any of them seriously. In my mind, if a product was moisturizing it'd probably do the exact same thing. I've tried one or two colour-safe shampoos in the past, but never noticed any difference. HOWEVER, the second time around dying my hair, I used the Colour Shield line every day... And I'm now a firm believer! Two weeks after dying my hair, it's as dark and chocolaty as ever! Normally by now I have some major red (and greys) poking through, but I am still getting comments about how great and rich my hair colour is. People think I dyed it just yesterday!

I also love this product just for its styling uses! I have naturally curly hair, which is definitely prone to frizz. But because my hair is so fine, many antifrizz products just weigh it down. I found the Instant Colour Sealer helped tame frizz while leaving my hair feeling soft and bouncy. I'm hooked! I'd definitely recommend these products to friends, in fact - I already have!

I have been using the Garnier Fructis Color Shield Instant Color Sealer since I dyed my hair about a month ago. I have always stuggled with grey hair so my color never lasts very long as the greys seem to grow fast and the roots start showing in no time. After using the color shield I noticed my hair seems shinier. It does not leave my hair sticky or oily at all in fact I was surprised it didn't as often any hair products that you leave on does. It actually made my hair quite flowy and soft. I am not sure how much the product will keep my grey's from coming out but so far the color is still vibrant and my hair continues to be shiny and healthier looking. Overall the product seems to be working well but I am not a big believer that anything can really make your hair color last longer. I will continue using the bottle that I received but I'm not sure it will be a product I will buy on my own.

I am reviewing the Garnier Fructis Color Shield Instant Color Sealer as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. I am a first-time user of hair colour so I was keen to see how using this product would enhance the longevity of my hair colouring efforts. I am usually a wash and dry girl, and loathe using too many hair products to style my stubbornly straight, limp hair.

For about three weeks, I followed the recommended usage and applied the Color Sealer after using the Garnier Fructis Color Shield Shampoo and Conditioner. I am not sure whether it helped to keep my hair colour looking fresh and vibrant, but it made my hair feel a bit sticky and oily. I tend to have an oily scalp so I did not like the results as I felt the need to wash my hair more often than I usually would.

I stopped using the Color Shield after the first three weeks, and stuck with the shampoo and conditioner, and found my hair to still look healthy and shiny. The colour stayed until the fifth week after applying the hair colour.

Would I use this product again? Probably not. I like my hair to feel clean and not greasy. I'm not used to applying a lot of product to my hair.

I was picked by the review club to try the Garnier Color Shield Instant Color Sealer. After using the Garnier Nutrisse Cream Hair Color, and the Garnier Color Shield shampoo and conditioner, I wasn't sure that I needed more products for my hair. The haircolor, shampoo and conditioner are fantastic products, but once I tried the instant color sealer I changed my mind! It's a great product, just like the others! My hair has less tangles and seems to hold a curl better. My hair looks and feels healthy. I will most definitely recommend the Garnier Color Sheild Instant Color Sealer. To tell you the truth, I will recommend the whole Fructis line of products.
