Oscar® winners Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren are spellbinding in this provocative story about the making of one of cinema’s most iconic films. Plagued by both a reckless ego and nagging self-doubt, Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock (Hopkins) becomes obsessed with a grisly murder story that the studios won’t back. Determined, he risks his reputation, his home and even the love of his wife Alma (Mirren), as he sets out to make the film. Ultimately, Hitch wins Alma over, and the two collaborate to create an enduring masterpiece – Psycho. Also starring Scarlett Johansson, Toni Collette and Jessica Biel, Hitchcock is “a knockout from start to finish” (Rex Reed, New York Observer).

    MY REVIEW
This week hubby and I got a chance to review the newly released “Hitchcock,” a glimpse into the life of Alfred Hitchcock, played by Anthony Hopkins. The story takes place during the making of one of Mr. Hitchcock’s most famous films, “Psycho”.

Hubby and I truly loved the movie and think Anthony Hopkins did a magnificent job portraying Alfred Hitchcock. Before beginning the movie, we questioned whether it was a wise idea to using Anthony Hopkins to portray “The Master of Suspense,” both being such familiar faces - but we were delighted to see that with his superior acting skills and a great makeup job, the “Hopkins” never comes out and all you see is “Hitchcock”.

This movie has a nice display of Mr. Hitchcock’s passion for filmmaking and the reliance he had on his wife Alma. It depicts a genuine love story and a brief look into what they faced as a couple staking so much of their estate on the making of “Psycho”. Great watch!
