I am a huge on finding thoughtful gifts; my family calls me The Queen of Gifting. I will search the universe for the absolutely perfect birthday, Christmas, anniversary, or wedding present. I can’t describe the feeling I get when I see someone dear to me opening the most perfect present. Seeing their face light up at the first sight of “the perfect gift” makes the endless hours searching, thinking and preparing worthwhile.
My son-in-laws birthday was two weeks ago. I am blogging about this now because I wanted to wait to have his full feedback on how much he loved his gift before I unleashed it to you all. Jason (my son in law) is a huge movie buff. This is an understatement but I am a loss for words on how to overstate it. His garage is full of movie posters, and his house would be too, if my daughter would allow it (thankfully she won’t). He is constantly talking about the latest flick, or reminiscing about past classic films. I don’t know his favorite genre, because he talks about every movie possible. He just recently had a 2 hour conversation with my daughter about Alice and Wonderland, after they saw it together. My poor baby girl!
Regardless, I have tapped into other hobbies of his for gift idea but movies were one I hadn’t really conquered. He has all the gadgets, and what-not for movies and home theater, so that was never really an option.
I was online week and weeks ago, blogging, networking, and doing my usual thing, when I decided I would start my search for the perfect Jason present. I looked into a bunch of different options and gift ideas. Then, I stumbled into the movie realm. I started searching for things he didn’t have, and things he would want. I struggled and struggled until I found the PERFECT movie lover gift idea. What’s the gift you ask?
Jason now has a membership to become as Associate Producer for an Independent Film online. How incredible is this! At imadeamovie.com I was able to sign Jason up for a membership to be part of a real Hollywood movie. Anyone can go to their website, pick a movie, sign-up and you’re done. Jason now has access to major movie making decision such as casting, and film location. He will also receive an I Made A Movie T-shirt, and Certificate. Not to mention he will receive a finished copy of the movie with his name in the credits as an Associate Producer. It’s a gift that keeps on giving!
I chose the movie P.T.S.D because I assumed it would be a perfect film for him and something he’d be interested in working on. I was right! There are movies of all genres available to everyone. It is such an easy process, and an amazing gift idea. I was thinking of even self gifting this one!
It was priceless at his birthday dinner when I showed up with just a card. Everyone was so confused. Usually I stroll in with an elaborately wrapped present, but not today. After opening the card, Jason’s face said it all. I wrote a little something in the card on what the gift entailed, but left the newest Associate Producer to figure out most of it on his own. If he had access to a computer at the restaurant, he would have logged on immediately.
He tells me constantly how much he loves I Made A Movie.com and how I hit another home run (this time it was out of the park). My daughter makes me laugh when she complains that he spends all of his time on this website. I am so pleased he loved his movie gift, and am so looking forward to seeing the finished product of his birthday present.
That’s it for now, but I will keep everyone posted on other great gift ideas.
    Speak soon,
    Marie aka The Gifting Queen
