I received this as a free sample. I've used it numerous times and still have some sample remaining. I applied this onto freshly washed damp hair before I applied any heat styling products. I didn't find that it had a pleasant smell to it, but I find that most heat styling products don't have a great smell. I found it left my hair silky and smooth. I don't know if it actually did any 'repairs' as I didn't notice a great difference.
