Make Up For Ever Artist Shadow Reviews

Description

In celebration of the brand’s 30th Anniversary, MAKE UP FOR EVER is revolutionizing the product that made it world famous. Introducing the Artist Shadow range, a collection of 210 highly pigmented eye shadows with superior blendability and intense even colour payoff.  This vast range of shades offers endless possibilities and the ability to create infinite looks from beautifully natural to highly artistic.
Artist Shadow has been three years in the making by MAKE UP FOR EVER Creative & Artistic Director Dany Sanz, who worked to create a breakthrough formula based on Pigment Atomization and Water-Blend Technology.  Pigment Atomization is the latest technology used to maximize color delivering up to 88% concentrated pigment which is the highest on the market.  Water - Blend Technology allows for utmost blendability and even texture.
With 210 shades consisting of Matte, Satin, Metal, Iridescent and Diamond finishes, the Artist Shadow range is the most extensive range available to consumers.  The numbering system used for the range indicates both the finish and the family number that each shade falls into within the Colour Wheel. The Artist Shadow range is available as a single shade, as well as duo and trio palettes—each palette 100% customizable.

I got a deluxe sample of this with my 500 point perk from Sephora. I have the shade I544, which is a shimmery, satin taupe.

I find that the pigmentation is decent with this particular shade, though it does take a bit to build it up. It is a bit gritty in texture, and kicks up some powder, considering the price for a full size pan is $25. I have a palette from NYC that I paid $6 for, and two of the colours are very similar. When applied to my lid, I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between the NYC and the Make Up For Ever.

If anything the NYC shades are softer to the touch and kick up less powder. Maybe some other shades from the MUFE line perform better than this, but this one is so easily duped that I can't recommend it.

I was very happy with this shadow the first time I used it. I had Flamingo and Electric Purple and I loved the colours. With this shadow you can use a little for a light colour or keep adding on top for a brighter bolder colour; it also blended well with other brands It lasted longer than other shadows I have used. Unfortunately after using the shadow for a week my eyelid got sore and puffy. I quit using the shadow for a few weeks and then tried it again and the next day my eyelid was all puffy. While the shadow has many pluses I wouldn't recommend this brand if you have sensitive skin.
