Maybelline New York Colossal Volum' Express Mascara

I have used alot of different types of mascara. I was always a fan of maybellines 'Great lash waterproof' masacra, which I used for quite some time. But I must say, this is my new go to mascara, for a day at work or a night out on the town. It just works wonders.

I love love love this maybelline colossal. it's affordable and makes your eyes look pretty. I recommend it for girls who are looking for affordable yet good mascara.

This mascara makes your lashes look great.
After a few hours of wear I find that it will flake a bit, and sit under my eyes. There are other similar mascara's that do this, Bad Gal and Buxom.

Are we even talking about the same mascara here?
I'm quite frankly confused at all the positive reviews people are giving it.
I got sucked into buying this mascara because like any stereotypical consumer I saw the bright package and big letters and promises of 7x volume WOW Got to try it!

First rule of any purchase, do not judge a book by it's cover.
I'll give them a 10/10 on having a nice cover though.
There's nothing really WRONG with this mascara, I mean yes it covered well. Yes there's a decent amount of product in the bottle. But it's called Colossal. 7x the volume it says.
I found absolutely no increase in volume, it probably has the least volume out of any of the ten or twelve mascaras I currently own. I do not appear to have any increase in length either.

I would say this is an excellent mascara for men, because
a) You cannot put it on more than once in a day, or it clumps. Badly.
b) It will not change how your eyelashes look in any way, besides making them blacker.
And most of the dudes I know aren't into carrying a mascara with them to work to reapply later, and don't want volumized lashes, they just want their facial hair to match their dye job. Chicks, pass this one to your boyfriend, and get something else for yourself.

This mascara is one of the best I've tried. I get huge, long lashes with no trouble at all. It goes on smoothly, and doesn't clump. The more I layer it, the bigger and longer my lashes get. So, it's an excellent daytime and nighttime mascara. Good price, too.

Two small complaints, though. It smells weird (I thought it was "off" when I first tried it), and it's a bit smudgy.

Oh Maybelline, how you continue to disappoint.

The only thing I like about this mascara is that it smells like flowers, but even that can't cover up the fact that it's average at best.

I find the mascara too dry, which leads to flaking. Doesn't thicken much, but if you're lucky enough to have that already, the separation is all right.

Yawn.

What a fabulous mascara! I first read about it here on ChickAdvisor, which prompted me to pick some up at Shoppers when it was on sale for 4.99. What a deal! My lashes are very light and sometimes clump with other mascaras. Colossal Volume Express is fabulous, as it lengthens and separates without clumping, while making a bold statement. I bought glam black, and although I haven't noticed any sparkles or shimmer, I do notice how my lashes stand out! The volume is excellent, I find myself often using only eyeliner and mascara now. With this mascara my eyes pop even without eyeshadow.

This mascara was given in our goodie bag during Chick Advisor's shop crawl. I was pleasantly surprised when I used it. My eyelashes had great length and volume with this mascara. The brush applicator works well to apply the mascara evenly without clumping. My lashes looked great. This product stayed on all day and never smudged (even when I rubbed my eyes). I definately recommend this product!

Love what the product does.But i hate the smell.

I did not like this mascara. It clumps as you try to add volume, has a strong fragrance and might irritate eyes. Every time I attempted using it I ended up with spider leg eyelashes. Not worth it.
