Easy to use. Lots to choose. All day crease proof wear. Rich, velvety textures. Glides on effortlessly with superior smoothness. Velvet tip applicator blends without tugging or pulling. Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, ophthalmologist tested. Sombra de ojos que dura todo el dia sin cuartearse.
I like this eye shadow, it stays on and doesn't seem to fade and I love this color
I have this in black and I use it as eye liner, it works well wet or dry and makes a great smokey eye.
Good for drugstore eyeshadow. The color goes on loosely, but not too loosely. A pretty good loose. Can tell it's not high-end though. Decent enough choice for some, maybe.
I love this eyeshadow! The sparkly color caught my eye right away, I really like the shade it comes in and the fact that it goes on the same color instead of some shadows that look good in the packaging but you can barely see them once they are on. The price was decent at $4.50 (walmart) and It lasts all day to. I paired it with a black sparkly shadow (same one by Maybelline) and it blended really well. Thumbs way up for this product!
I love this eyeshadow in Amethyst. It is such a beautiful color. I actually like applying it over my eyeliner on my top lashline with the sponge applicator that it comes with. It does fade by the end of the day, but at least it doesn't smudge under your eyes or crease! Why get an expensive brand when you can get this cheap but effective version at the drugstore?
I really like this colour a lot. It is a little sparkly which I don’t like, but the colour itself is bright and beautiful. It goes on fairly easy, although I think a primer would help the true colour a lot in this case. Overall a nice shadow.
I really don't wear much makeup to begin with, but when I do, I like to achieve the 'flawless' look only pricey high end makeup gives (or so i thought!).
I've had pretty bad experience with drugstore makeup... I won't name names but i've had foundations that make my skin look dirty and wrinkly, lipsticks making my lips peel like mad, mysteriously invisible eyeshadow where you see the colour on the palette, colour's on the brush but no colour on your lids.
Because of these and more issues, I often find that although drugstore brands will save you money on the short term, you'll end up buying more products (to find one that actually works!) and spending more than you needed to had you bought a good one thats a bit pricey to begin with in the long term.
I received this product in the Shopaholic Movie Night goodie bag, so I gave it a try...and kept on using it :) I tried it with primer and the colour does look much richer, however I think I like the non primer look for this shadow. Its such a dark colour, I would think that at the end of the day I'll get beautiful racoon eyes, but thankfully no such thing happened! Although by the end of the day the colour did wear off a bit and wasn't as intense as when I first applied, it was still there, it stayed put and didn't flake onto my cheeks or bleed into the outer corner of my eyes as some eyeshadows that shall remain nameless do.
I also love how I can use a light hand to give a hint of light shimmery lavender or a heavy hand for deep purple look. I can go from day to night with this one colour!
I would definately buy this product, its a great peice for everyday use (and very affordable for everyday use too)!. I can't wait to try out some of the other colours available in this series....I saw a gorgeous green at PharmaPlus the other day! mmmm.....
My only complaint is, had I not received this product in the goodie bag, I would likely never have tried it, and not only would Maybelline miss out on my business, but I'd miss out on this fab product! I've noticed that other drugstore brands such as L'Oreal have testers so the consumers can actually try out the colours before buying them, however I've not seen this for Maybelline products. Perhaps I've just been going to the wrong drugstores, but I thought I'd mention it.
I would love to try more Maybelline products, and I would love to see Maybelline testers so we can actually try the colour before we buy.
Very very pretty colour. I love dark purples, so this was one of my favourite goodies I got at the CA movie night. I think this colour is versatile; it can be worn as a washed out purple for day time look or a dark intense base for the evening. Either way, I think this colour would look good on everyone. I do think, however, that the packaging can be a little more attractive!
I love this colour. It is so dark and easy to apply. I will definately buy this shade again. What a hit! I found that it blended really nicely and wasn't harsh for being so dark
After using many higher end brands of eye shadow, I have found it really difficult to go back to drug store brands. But after receiving this in the swag, I think I am going to get more drug store brand shadows.
I am quite impressed with the colour pay-off. The purple colour came out rich and bright -- just the way I like my eye shadows. The consistency was also really good to work with. It went on my skin smoothly and blended quite well with my other eye shadows.
The shadow did crease on my eyes a little bit. It also faded slightly throughout the day and I had to touch it up once. Although I love the colour, this is definitely a shadow that cannot go without a primer underneath. Prime your eyelids, ladies! It does make all the difference :)
I also would prefer if the packaging was a little more sturdy.
Overall I am quite pleased with this eye shadow and colour. Next time I am in a drug store I will look into the other colour selection. This is a great drug store brand eyeshadow, definitely also great for those who want to look good; but also save a little money.
