reviews I've never used a finishing veil before and was unsure about its effectiveness. I love the packaging! However, the sponge applied the product too heavily for me as well so I use my blush brush to sweep on a thin layer. I didn't see much difference before and after the finishing powder, but maybe I am not using enough, but I don't like too many layers of stuff on my face. I use it to set my foundation and blush and it seems to keep everything in place for the day. Not a bad product, but not something I would use all the time. I ended up choosing the bronzer because I rarely ever do an entire make-up routine and I really didnt think I would use the finishing powder. This step was really probably the most disappointing in the whole line. First of all, they only had one shade of bronzer which should have tipped me off in the first place. It was really too dark and unnatural looking on my skin which is still moderately light from being inside the whole winter. I also found it to be WAY too thick when applied with the provided foam applicator. I even tried to use it VERY sparingly and it was still way too much. I found the rest of the line to be very light and seamless, and this step i think almost ruined the whole look. it was a LITTLE bit better with a brush, but I really dont know that I will be using it much unless I get a lot more tanned... I thought it was kind of fun applying this product. For this Finish Veil the shade I selected was Light. It did help to provide an overall flawless look and cover up blemishes, but after all steps were completed I thought it made my face look very "made up" and not so natural. I recommend using a powder brush and not the foam pad that comes with the veil, it helped to take away some of the heaviness. reviews I don't normally wear pressed powder but I thought I would give Maybelline's a try. First off, the packaging was pretty cool. It's really sturdy so it can stand up to being tossed in your purse. It comes with a sponge applicator and mirror so you can apply it wherever you are, though I did have some difficulty trying to get to it at first but I finally figured it out and thought that it was cool that there is a tiny compartment that swings out. I thought the product itself was good, it prevented me from getting oily all day. It also helped me darken up the concealer that I had which was too light. I also liked how it blended into my skin, which normally doesn't happen because I'm asian and most drugstore makeup doesn't quite match my skintone. All in all I liked Maybelline's pressed powder because it prevented me from becoming oily, matched my skintone well and didn't make my skin feel flaky after applying it. I was really curious to see how good Maybelline's bronze coloured powder would be. I really love the golden hue - no orange mess here! Plus, the pigment is strong so you can afford to use a light hand. I also love the texture. The powder is silky smooth and blends easily on the skin. The mineral texture makes my skin look luminous. It also has great staying power - it lasted through a sweaty workout! I swear lol. The packaging is sleek and has a convenient slide compartment for your sponge - perfect so it won't get dirty. But I wouldn't use the sponge for the bronzer - always use a big powder brush for a natural effect. If you're in the market for a bronzer it's a really inexpensive quality bronzer! So much lighter and much more natural looking! I was really impressed! Like previous raters I am used to the "caked" look when it comes to finishing powder but you don't get that with this product. Another reason I loved it - it still let my skin breathe which meant no breakout afterward! Definitely recommend this product. I will buy this when I run out! I usually use liquid foundation and finish with a translucent powder or a sweep of blush or bronzer, but this stuff is pretty amazing, especially for the price. I always avoided powders or compact foundations before because I hate the cakey, dry look that comes with them, but this one is so light that it really just adds that finished look and evens everything out. I used the Medium shade and it seems to blend well with my skin tone, even after getting a bit of a tan. It also works nicely with my non-maybelline liquid foundation. I don't wear alot of make-up on my skin usually, maybe some cream and some concealer, and I was surprised that one person could wear so much on the face, and for it to look so natural and light! It really really impressed me. I even used some on my neck and chest to even out the look. I love the whole line actually. My only problem with this particular one is that it is messy. It doesn't get on my clothing or furniture, but after 2 uses the case was messy and looked like I had it for months. But other than that it was perfect for my skin!
