I originally chose this bottle because I read the claims about fewer ear infections and that it was closest to breastfeeding. I am now using it on my second child and I am really impressed with this product. The price is a little daunting. It is much more expensive than any other nipple/bottle on the market but after using it on two children I can tell you that I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again despite the price tag.

I have been using the calma nipples and bottles in combination with breastfeeding. Both of my children have switched seamlessly between the calma nipple and breastfeeding. They have not experienced any nipple confusion that can be associated with other types of nipples.

The calma nipple takes a lot of suction to use much like breastfeeding. The baby has to suck hard to fill the nipple with milk/formula and when the baby stops sucking the milk stops flowing unlike other nipples which can drown the baby in milk.

Another fantastic feature of the calma nipple is that although it comes with a bottle it actually fits on any regular sized bottle mouth allowing you the flexibility of adding it to the bottle of your choice.

As for the claim of fewer ear infections I am happy to report that my 2 year old has yet to experience an infection.
