"My Fitness Coach" is one of the greatest things Nintendo has created! If you're looking for a fun, simplified workout that will give you great results right in your living room (and you own a WIi console, of course), you need "My Fitness Coach"!

I haven't tried the Wii Fit, but from those I know who have done both, MFC is the clear winner. You don't need any superfluous Wii equipment for MFC. Just some space in front of the TV, and perhaps some hand weights or an exercise ball.

Your fitness coach is Maya, a friendly but goal-oriented host. She initially leads you through a simple fitness evaluation to assess your capabilities, and eventually settles on a fitness goal (weight loss, upper/lower/core body strength, cardio, flexibility, etc). From there, she tailors workouts geared towards your goal (which you can change at any time). Maya gives you a calendar where you can settle on a workout plan, and she holds you to your schedule! At the end of each workout, she reminds you of your next workout date. If you miss a workout, she'll definitely remind you the next time you log in!

The workouts themselves are great - you can make them as easy or as hard as you want, and Maya does a great job of teaching you new moves, coaching you through them, and motivating you along the way. I incorporate my free weights and exercise ball, but you don't need to have anything to do these workouts. As you progess through workouts, you will be able to "unlock" new music and new workout venues. Every 10 workouts, Maya will put you through another fitness evaluation to chart your progress. With over 450 workout moves, I still haven't gotten bored of this program. Some cons are that the music is a bit corny, and if you want to do 1 workout immediately after another, Maya starts from scratch - a warm up when I'm already warmed up is a bit of a waste of time.

I've noticed some great changes since starting MFC, and I'm pleased with my progress thus far...I'll be more than ready for my new summer wardrobe this year!
