I have been suffering from excessive sweating for years, but can't afford a surgical solution. This is the next best thing. It can irritate if you shave beforehand, and it takes a few days to get used to letting it dry completely before puting on Julie pyjamas. But I have noticed a considerable decrease in sweating, so I think it is all worth it.
I remember going to the doctor when I was younger to inquire about what I could do about excessive sweating. I was referred to an over-the-counter product that I ended up not buying because it was too expensive. I ended up not looking into it further and just tried to deal with it on my own. This antiperspirant kind of reminds me of that product I almost bought, but it is, without a doubt, much cheaper than that said product. When you apply it, it kind of has a light alcohol scent that quickly dissipates and dries pretty quickly. Your skin feels mattified but not dried out, which is nice.
One of my issues this summer has been sweating during my sleep, so I applied this to the inner parts of my upper thighs, under arms and stomach. I refrained from shaving those areas before applying it so the product wouldn't irritate anything and it worked like a charm. I woke up the next morning completely dry and during the day, those areas were kept dry. It is very important that you DON'T apply this to irritated, broken or freshly shaved skin because it does sting and itch like a bastard. I didn't realize I had a slight heat rash forming at the back of one of my knees and the solution ended up making me itch until I fell fast asleep. That was the only issue I came across, so I laid off applying the product there until the rash cleared up. As for shaving the areas I've applied it to, I do that the day after it's been applied and I have been able to keep dry for a couple days with each use.
Last summer caught me off guard and being stressed all the time I started to sweat very much also. It was not only about the way one round stain would look on all my clothes, but also about the smell, since any other anti-perspirant was working for at most 8 days, and then my body would adjust to it and buh-bye!
So I gave this one a try and boy was I pleased! You only use it 2-3 times a week, and goodbye sweat! No more smell, no more stains, no more expensive and natural anti-perspirants that promise Heaven and deliver nothing. I also used it when I went to Spain, and make no mistake, I had to suffer through temperatures as high as 40-50 Celsius, but everything was good and it kept me fresh.
Perspirex is an excellent deodorant for anyone who considers themselves a 'heavy sweater' and knows how embarrassing this can be. It comes in a roll-on, and while the price may seem high, keep in mind that you only have to apply every three days (some people only every five days). Its to be applied at night, then the next morning you can shower and go about your day. Do not shave your armpits before applying, as this may result in a stinging sensation. Its available at Shoppers Drug Mart. Good luck!
