I’d never used a rangefinder like this one before, and I was very curious to see what it was all about. As it turns out, this product is much simpler than I expected, and does just one thing: you point it at something and it tells you how far away it is.

It’s a very simple design, but I can see why it would be useful for various activities like golfing, hunting, hiking, and more. You turn the rangefinder on with the power button, press the same button to get a reading when looking at something, and the Mode button simply switches from yards to meters. It’s extremely simple to use, and it works very well. I did find it frustrating that you have to adjust the focus by the dial right next to your eye, making it a pain to look through and adjust at the same time, however.

The instructions included with my rangefinder were somewhat confusing, as they actually contain instructions for various features that simply don’t exist in the device I have. It took me a lot of experimenting to realise that the instructions were inaccurate, as I kept thinking I was doing something wrong. For the price you pay for this rangefinder, I would expect that they could at least send the proper instructions.

The case that is included is waterproof, which is a great idea if you’re hiking with it, and there’s also a cloth inside for cleaning the lens. The rangefinder has a small loop attached to it that can be used to carry it on your wrist, your bag, or even by tying it to your belt loops on your pants. It makes it much easy to travel with, though I think that keeping it in the waterproof case would be my personal choice.

You can use this with glasses or without. It is easier to use without glasses, but you can still use it with wearing your glasses. Overall, it's a good product that accurately picks out the distance of something, but they need to make sure the right manual is included.
