too much smash-in-me-box
:Pricey at $27:
I think I OD-ed on Smashbox. I never LOVED the company to begin with, but when I went to get the Limitless Liner, I threw in a couple other things that piqued my interest.
How unfortunate that the only think I liked was said liner.
This is their cream eye liner in Midnight Brown:
It was average. For the price, I'd rather get MAC's Fluidline and spend less to sit above baseline. I sit prettiest on top.
Skip it.
I too bought this product when the Shopping Channel had a pretty good deal on it (much cheaper than buying directly from Smashbox) I bought a palette (Proof) that has 10 of their popular colours in it. I was really excited to try the product, as I had heard so many great things about it.
I have to say, I don't know if maybe mine came from a bad batch or maybe I had a reaction to the product, but it really irritated my eyes, like stinging and just a general uncomfortable feeling. Also, the eyeliner never seemed to dry. It claims to dry quickly, and be smudge proof (once applied) and flake proof. While I didn't have flakes, I had major smudge (mainly because it never dried). I am glad that I also bought the cream eye liner brush, as the mini one that came with the palette was not very good and made application harder than it had to be. The full size brush however is fantastic!
All in all I was really disappointed and ended up just throwing it out. Waste of time and money. I don't recommend.
Smashbox usually has products that are easy to use and effective. I find that with this cream eyeliner it is hard to apply due to the texture of the product. It is almost like a very solid cream. It comes with an applicator brush, but the bristles feel a bit hard on the sensitive eye area. Either the eyeliner should be more creamier or the brush should be softer. The effect of the eyeliner is barely seen since the intensity of the colour is not enough. If you are looking for eyeliner I would suggest you go for a liquid.
