In my opinion this is one of Stephen Kings best novels every! A made for television mini series was made back in 1994 from the book, but I still say it wasn’t near as good as the book is. I feel that way about most movie’s that have bin made from books. I just don’t think they can do novel’s Justus. Here’s a bit from the book to give you an idea of what you’d be getting yourself into if you decide to read The Stand.
“One man escapes from a biological weapon facility after an accident, carrying with him the deadly virus known as Captain Tripps, a rapidly mutating flu that - in the ensuing weeks - wipes out most of the world's population. In the aftermath, survivors choose between following an elderly black woman to Boulder or the dark man, Randall Flagg, who has set up his command post in Las Vegas. The two factions prepare for a confrontation between the forces of good and evil. “
The Stand grabs you right from the start and it doesn’t let you go until the last word written! I couldn’t put this book down and neither could anyone else that I know who has read it. Whether you’re a Steven King fan or not The Stand is a great read and it makes you think. What if something like this did happen today? Would you live, would you join the others that lived, or try and make it on your own? How you would you survive something like this if you did live? You can buy The Stand from for $8.86
