If, like me, you're curious about water flossers and want to try one, I'd definitely recommend this. At half the cost of a more expensive system, I found it was exactly what I was looking for and apart from a few extremely minor things that could be improved, did a perfect job.

Even though I only need the regular attachment, I love that it comes with options for dental work and braces, as those will come in real handy if you have either of those. It also comes with three regular tips for a multi-use household.

The water pulsates, so don't be alarmed that it's not a steady stream. The 30 second 'pause' is a really useful tool to keep track of how you're doing in terms of time and cleaning sections. While the water reservoir will probably need to be refilled every 2-3 uses, if it was bigger the machine would be too bulky.

A full 2-minute use will use about 400ml of the water, but a normal clean uses around half that and the reservoir stores 600ml.

I did find it a little overwhelming that the pressure went all the way up to 10, as even after adjusting to the pressure and finally raising it to three, I found that to be more powerful than needed. It took around two uses for me to adjust to how to use it and the only thing I really had trouble with was splashing.

Protip: If you find it splashing a lot, close your lips a little more and this fixes it totally.

I have noticed a huge reduction in plaque since using this, especially between my two front teeth. I also use it more regularly than floss, the recommended twice a day in fact. I have extremely close set teeth and have only ever been able to use the 'ribbon' style tape floss previously. Even then, I found floss broke frequently and made my gums feel sore.

If you have close-set teeth and are considering getting a water flosser, but don't want to spend much, I'd say go for this one. I find it much more comfortable than floss.

I only found two minor ways the system can be improved in the future, while testing. One: It's quite loud, especially when on the higher settings, but not any louder than a rumbly electric toothbrush. Still, if it could be made quieter, it'd be a bonus.

Two: When the handle remains on and the unit turns 'off' it will continue to gently spray water. I found this to be the biggest issue as it means 'auto-off' is not really auto-off as you have to manually switch the handheld tool off to stop water flow completely. The handheld tool also squirts water intermittently if the reservoir runs dry, which can be a little alarming and I feel it should shut off automatically in such a case. If these could be fixed, this would be a five star item. That being said it's still well-worth the price.

Protip 2: If you don't use the other orthodontic attachments in the 'on-top storage replace them with extra attachments for the whole family.
