Finding a really, really good mascara has been a quest I have been on for at least 25yrs OMG!!!!! (I started early o.k). I have run the full circuit from high end to drugstore cheapies under $10. For too many years now I have settled for the drugstore cheap stuff that dries up quickly and leaves me "lumpy" ;-0 ... I never found a mascara that I felt was truly worth the money. I ended up spending the xtra $ on some great mineral foundations... but that's another review.
Well what do you know, I recently tried a sample size of the Sumptuous Mascara by Estee Lauder (yay for gift w purchase) and I'm in Love. Beautiful rich quality! No Lumps! Glides on! Feathery finish! Plus... easy to find in a full make-up box because of the glistening gold exterior. I ran out to the department store and picked up the full size. I have no issue's paying Estee prices for an exceptional product. Definitely worth trying out Ladies! This one is a WINNER!
I was on my way to the mall and walked through sears after getting there WITHOUT mascara on my mind. I had absentmindedly left the house sans lashes and decided I should put some on.
The PRETTY GOLD TUBE caught my eye on the display. I decided to stop and try this mascara. It comes in a divinely rich looking bold and gold tube and ladies.. we know that matters! Check!
I ran it over my lashes and with ease and perfection the RICH FORMULA glided seamlessly creating BOLD and WISTFULLY SOFT yet thick Voluminized lashes. Check!
The BRUSH, I am sure manufactured with care, even caught the itty bitty lashes in the very hard to reach corner of the eye with grace and super softness. It left no clumps or bumps. Check!
I wear contact lenses and I was not bothered by the formula at all. Another check! The BEST PART.. this mascara created the perfect curl to my lashes. BIG CHECK!
All in all, a must-have. An ALMOST 5 out of 5 only because of two things:
1. The price is fabu for a department store brand but in comparison to drugstore.. I know :(
2. For the amateur "makeup applicatress".. is that a word... they might require some type of know how in order to not apply too much product to the lashes which will in turn create a single triple lash. We all know what those are :|
Good job Estée!
