Years after circumstances split them apart, Ian returns to a much-changed Zimbabwe to see Lindiwe, now a sophisticated, impassioned young woman, and discovers a devastating secret that will alter both of their futures, and draw them closer together even as the world seems bent on keeping them apart. The Boy Next Door is a moving and powerful debut about two people finding themselves and each other in a time of national upheaval.

My book club decided to read this book this month after having been sent a copy from one of my favourite blogs. Three girls showed up for our monthly meeting and we were left with so many questions. Even after printing out a suggested book club list of questions we kept coming up with more and more things left unanswered.
Overall, we found the book an ok read. Nothing spectacular and probably forgettable after another 10 books go through my brain.
The most positive thing is that the book inspired us all to want to find out more about Zimbabwe's history.
