I absolutely LOVE this movie! I think that its a classic film that everyone should (if they haven't already) see at least once in their life. I fell in love with the character of Andy Dufresne! I adored him. I know a lot of people think this movie is overrated but I absolutely love it. You have to watch it!

I loved this movie,such a fantastic storyline from start to finish. What made this movie even better is that it is based on a true story. This is one of those movies that I can watch over again.

One of the greatest films of all time. Wonderfully story, beautifully acted and intelligent.

Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) is sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison for the murders of his wife and her lover and is sentenced to a tough prison. However, only Andy knows he didn't commit the crimes. While there, he forms a friendship with Red (Morgan Freeman), experiences brutality of prison life, adapts, helps the warden, etc., all in 19 years.

What a powerful and difficult movie to watch. The strength of the human spirit is alive and well in the form of Andy Dufresne who is determined to survive life and prison. He strikes a friendship with Red and ultimately forges a bond that will last a lifetime. Brilliant performance by these two superb actors. A touching and bittersweet movie.
