Received this as a gift. Works wonderfully for travel purposes, as it can be dressed up or down. Crave gives a great smokey eye evening look without being too dark. Good coverage and stays - not too powdery that it spreads too much and dusts off, and would complement any eye color. I love the slight shimmer in the Venus, and like to mix Faint & Naked 2.

this pallette gives a really suttle look and i use it about everyday it is very pigminted and works well

Like the name says, this palette really does cover the basic eyeshadow colours. For the price, it is a really great buy for people who don't wear makeup all the time. I have always wanted to get the Naked palette, but I didn't want to spend all the money on the full sized version.

This is an amazing palate for someone who wants to use eye shadow without the worry of it being too much. The shadows themselves are like butter, and blend very well. The range of mattes allow for anything from a little definition to a full smokey eye. The small packaging also makes it a great option for travelling.

Favourite palette ever! Lovely matte shades, and a beautiful satin for highlighting. Great for anyone.

I am a makeup junkie. I could spend my entire pay cheque in Sephora, and that would be heaven to me. Unfortunately, utility companies would balk at that fantasy, so I refrain.
After ogling for months over the Urban Decay eye shadow palettes, I finally broke down and splurged on the Basics palette.
I am in LOVE. These shadows are beyond buttery. They apply evenly, have impressive staying power, and the shades are drool worthy.
I did feel the need to dock some points for price ($35 for the mini palette.... OUCH), and the fact that there is a surprising amount of fall-out. But these blow every drugstore shadow out of the water, and I will definitely be purchasing again.

Perfect neutral everyday palette! I love the fact that the shadows are matte but that there is one shimmery colour to add that pop to you inner corner. I've already hit pan on this one!

I purchased this palette a year ago while on the hunt for a nice matte palette that I could use for days when I wanted very natural makeup. I intended to use this palette on most school days so that I would look put together but still fresh and natural. This palette did not live up to my expectations for it. The colours are all very similar and although I am very fair-skinned, I had trouble getting the lighter shades to show up on me at all. On top of this, I found the colours difficult to blend and muddy-looking. Overall I will not be repurchasing because I know that I will never finish this palette as it's a struggle to convince myself to ever use it.

I only have good things to say about Urban Decay products. If you were to look into my make-up cabinet, there would be a plethora of Urban Decay products. The Naked Basics are truly perfect for everyday make up. It's so easy to get a perfect nearly nude look, to a smoldering smokey eye. The basics palette is what I use most, but I highly recommend any of their products.
