Vaseline has got to be the most versatile product known to woman! I love it on my lips! If your lips are dry, I would recomend that you don't use it alone, but put it on top of a moisturizing lip balm to lock in moisture. This works REALLY well! Now, though that is a great use, here is my fave way to use Vaseline: as a foot treatment. Thats right. Every night, before you go to bed, rub your feet in Vaseline, and PUT ON SOME SOCKS (careful not to slip on you greasy feet!) this is important, but don't ask me why. I got this out of a beauty book, and I trust it. When you wake up in the morning, your feet will be baby soft and smooth. Careful not to use too much, or they might stay greasy through the night, but I still say you should give it a try!

I absolutely love Vaseline. One little 50g tub of Vaseline can do just about anything. It only cost around 1 to 2 dollars and you can get it anywhere. You can use it for burns, cuts, dry skin, as a make up remover etc. You can put it over your lipstick to make your lips look glossier. When you try on rings at a store and it gets stuck to your finger, put Vaseline on and it slips right off. (This really happened to my friend, but luckily I hand my handy dandy Vaseline, haha).

Also, if anyone has a nosebleed problem Vaseline can help! When you have a nose bleed get either tissue or gauze, roll it up so it can fit into your nose then put Vaseline on it. Putting Vaseline on helps clot the blood. If you just use tissue it will take longer for the blood to clot.

I try to avoid petroleum products whenever possible, whether it's at the fuel pump or involving my face (!) since I do not like how it has effected our economy and our world. Did you know petroleum jelly was discovered as a substance that accumulated on oil rig equipment, gunking it up? (That's what wikipedia sez)

That being said, from what I have read I don't think that petroleum jelly actually heals. It really just sits on top of the skin, making it appear moist, but the skin is actually sealed underneath it and becomes drier and more chapped underneath as a result. In this way I have heard that you can develop a dependency on Vaseline, where it makes the problem underneath worse the more you use it so you use it more to try to counter it.

I prefer more natural products such as those made with beeswax (e.g. the Burt's Bees line is great.) I'll be the odd chick out here and thumbs down this product.

This stuff is amazing!! When I bought my Vaseline, Shopper Drug Mart had a sale on it ..so I bought it for next to nothing. I think a $1 something. It's usually very cheap anyways. I use it for my lips, under my eyes and any dry spots on my skin. It doesn't clog my pore. On the back of the Vaseline, it says it helps dry skin, removes eye make-up, soothing protection for minor burns, protects skin from wind burn and chapping and helps prevent diaper rash. This product cover almost everything!!~~

This stuff is a must have in any home. As someone else noted, its GREAT for eczema. I've spent hundreds of dollars on prescription creams. Of course some of the prescriptions work but you just don't get the harmful side effects with vaseline and you can't beat the price! Here's a tip: Mix the vaseline with aloe gel and its a great remedy for dry elbows.

This is going to sound really gross, but I really don't care... I love Vaseline Petroleum Jelly! because it helps with my hayfever. On the days that my nose won't give me any peace -- when it gets so itchy inside that all it wants to do is sneeze over and over and run and run -- I slather it on a Q-Tip and then coat the inside of my nose. I'm not sure if the stickiness traps pollen and dust or if it moisturizes or both, but it works wonders!

I use Vaseline for my kids' eczema. My daughter gets patches on her legs during the winter, and my son's earlobes are so bad they crack (year round). Only Vaseline helps - I've tried the prescription creams. For larger areas, I mix in my palm an equal quantity of Vaseline and another simple moisturizer (I've used Glaxal base before, this is the base cream for many prescription creams and can usually be found in the first aid or cortisone cream section of your pharmacy). Works like a charm!

And it's really good for chapped lips! About once a week I slather vaseline on my lips and then gently rub it off with a clean, unused toothbrush. It leaves my lips feeling so soft. Ever since I started this regiment my lips have been looking healthier and a lot less drier!
