Edgy Trends: Dare to Wear Gray HairSunday March 21, 2010 Karl Lagerfeld made bold moves for Chanel’s spring 2010 runway show in Paris, making every embellishment silver – from the shoes and buttons to the hair. Delicately streaked, the models' daring dos turned a lot of heads and the fashion world took notice.![]() Lagerfeld hasn’t been the only icon to give the usual “pesky” tone new life: Queen of Fashion Kate Moss took on the look the very same week at the Longchamp bag launch also in Paris. Blaming her icy tresses on a dye job mishap, the reason is less important than the result... which, according to critics, was ultra chic. ![]() Proenza Schouler and Rodarte are just two of the design houses using the trend to compliment their latest collections, but the look surprisingly didn’t start on the runway. Credited to British Hipsters who debuted their “natural streaks” over a year ago, Pixie Geldof was one of the first to be photographed gray at the British Fashion Awards last December. The buzz even has the teens going granny, like 13-year-old fashion blogger Tavi Gevinson who switched up her usual blonde over a month ago. Now the only question left is, are you daring enough to go gray? by Katie Coristine | ||
