Vosges Haut Chocolat - New York

This tiny chocolate cafe/boutique makes the most amazing chocolate drinks. They have a large selection of truffles, chocolate covered marshmallows, chocolate tortilla chips and chocolate covered nuts, but I went for a nice tall hot glass of Aztec Elixir Drinking Couture Cocoa with a shot of espresso.

It tasted exactly what I expect the secret drink on Chocolate (with Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp) tasted like. I have been looking for that for a long time. The secret is a hint of hot pepper. The drink is velvety smooth and rich with just a touch of heat. I wanted to curl up inside of it. It was so good I bought some to take home. There aren't any chemicals in it, it is the real deal with flakes of premium chocolate and spices.

If you're looking for an original gift for a chocolate lover or it's that time of the month, I highly recommend. There are a few bar seats there if you want to take a load off from shopping and enjoy a moment to yourself. The chocolatey drinks are around $5, but they also have a full selection of espresso based drinks.
