What is "American cuisine"? If you're a born-and-bred North American, you won't recognize your favourite chow for the unique cuisine it is. Think Surf 'n Turf platters, premium burgers, Southern-style fried chicken and BBQ pork ribs for a start. Serve 'em up with Californian salads, perfectly seasoned home fries, baked potato and corn on the cob, then follow with good ol' apple pie, triple chocolate brownies, and decadent milkshakes.
Hungry yet? Yeah, let's order in American tonight!

Love it Love it Love it! This upscale restaurant and lounge is located in one of the best hotels in Greensboro, the O.Henry. The decor is typical old south, with dark paneling, columns and brickwork. If there's room you must sit out on the patio and enjoy the warm evening...

I've been here on multiple occasions for private events and on a date with my husband. In all instances, it's been a fantastic experience. The food is wonderful and the service, impeccable. This is a nice place to go on a date where you can dress up a little.

Ok, I know, it's only Branigan's, but here it's all about locationlocationlocation. Great river views off the patio, affordable prices, and yummy food (features ribs, steak and seafood). If you're at The Forks anyway, why not check it out?

I have only eaten at this location once, but it's an experience I will never forget. The staff are amazing, as well as the food. It is quite pricey, but the food is well worth it! On my budget, I can't afford to eat there often, but I do plan on going back in the near future.

American and southern dishes at this family-friendly restaurant; good prices. Try the fried green tomatoes and deep grits, but don't hold out for low-fat options... southern + lowfat = .... not authentic. The patio is beautiful!

This is a fantastic place to go to for brunch. The food is DDDDelicious! The menu for brunch is different on Sat and Sun. so you may want to check out their website. Veda's special (like eggs benedict with smoked salmon instead) is great, the burger is the best I have ever...

I'm not the biggest burger fan, but I LOVE these burgers. Five Guy's is in Dr. Phillips, close to where I work, and how can you resist going to a place with real sweet tea and you can throw peanut shells on the floor? The burgers and fries are huge, all beef, with fresh french...

You might think that Plant City is a little far to go for dinner, but my boyfriend and I have been seeing signs for Branch Ranch on I4 for as long as we can remember. On a recent trip back from Tampa, we decided to stop, and were amazed at how busy it was. Since we were only a...

I originally stumbled upon this place before a musical when we wanted to grab some food and a couple cocktails. We sat at the bar and had great appetizers - which happened to be half price that day and a few cocktials. The Appleton's rep happened to be there and bought us...

This place is fantastic! It's a quick-serve restaurant, which makes it ideal for large gatherings where everyone is paying for their own meal. They do an incredible mix of ethnicities ranging from italian to asian to classic american and all sorts of other yummy things! You can...

We took my niece and nephew here yesterday. We were the only ones in the restaurant (that should have been a clue), which was good for the kids, 'cause they ran around like crazy. Service was bad, we got one glass of water at the beginning and she never came back to give us...

They made us pay before anything came to the table. They brought all the beer (draught) to the table at the same time and the waitress never came back to the table once to see how things were.

It might seem a bit pricey for a burger and fries..especially if you have a whole family to feed....but this 'once in a while' treat is sooo worth the money. The best burgers I've EVER tasted by far. The variety is amazing...you can get almost anything on a burger...some are...

Located in the Byward Market, Zaks is a classic diner in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Zaks Diner is a throwback to the 1950s. It's decorated in really bright and fun colours, with old 50s advertisements decorating the walls. There's also a jukebox! Zaks has the Best...

This is another one of Ottawa's 24 hour diners that I enjoy after a night of bar hopping. It's a great place to sit down with friends, and re-cap the night and settle down before you go home to rest. I've never actually been during the daytime, but I imagine it's a much more...

Great American Food with plenty of choices. I particularly loved the popovers instead of the typicaly bread basket, at the beginning of the meal! The decor is classic, yet fun... and the service is phenomenal!

Everytime I've gone to Dick's, there has been no problem getting a table, even though there is a steady stream of customers. The food is great tasting and reasonably priced, and the onion rings are the best in town. Ice Cream wise..I had a kids cone, and it was HUGE. I...

This is one of the worst restaurants to go to in Ottawa. It really sucks for students living around the Algonquin College area because there isn't a lot of choice. So if you're sick of Subway, Pizza Pizza, McDonald's, and Chances R, then you're stuck with this joint. The...

Mosaic Dip. Oh my goodness! Moxie's is one of those places that gets overlooked because they're everywhere. But when you go in, you wonder why you don't go more often. The atmosphere is great, and the service is friendly and efficient. Even a takeout order is...
