Basil's restaurant - Winnipeg

I think my dear sisters (mumaluv and misschickie) are a little forgetful about this one. When we went the service was very slow (even though the restaurant was all but empty. As I recall it took an hour for our order to be taken), and the food was nothing to write home about. Understand, I had never sent something back in my life, until that day. I ordered some kind of strawberry smoothie thing that turned out to be lukewarm water mixed with nestle strawberry quik with whipping cream on top. not appetizing. I sent it back, the server looked confused and still charged me for it.

Love the platter with the hummous, pita, olives, artichokes and other dips. Delicious and huge. Good for sharing.

This is a really cute place. Great food, fun ambiance and really reasonably priced. My sisters took me here once and I'd definitely go back.

Basil's in Osborne Village is a great casual Mediterranean place with great food and ambiance which will only set you back about $25 for food and a drink. We went there for my sister's bachelorette party and had a great time! They have a seasonal patio/courtyard that was fantastic when I went in there a few years ago. Love it!
