You'd never know your missing meat (if you're not into vegetarian food) I'm not strictly vegetarian only, I still eat meat, but I love going to Calactus, because the food is amazing!!! I recommend the Pakoras if you're not sure where to start. Also if you enjoy Hummus get yourself some while here! It's the best. While at it, try their veggie pate...also amazing. And you'll get some chapati bread with most all meals (their pizza is made on it) and it is delish! Their soups are wonderful, and my fav would be the carrot ginger. Get yourself some of that with a side of their garlic toast. YUM
I've had a few of their dishes, and would have to say I enjoy their pizza the best. It's even better when you get a pizza/salad plate. I recommend all types of their pizza and salads, they are all equally yummy. The lasagna is spot on!! I've never had it myself (yet) but I heard the big Marc burger is quite yummy! It's obviously a veggie burger, but I hear it's pretty darn tasty.
Deserts here are just as good (if not better, and certainly better for you) than any other restaurant in town. And if you're full at the end of the main course, skip desert, but get yourself a coffee. You'll be happy you did.
The place its self has a great atmosphere. There's an artsy feel mixed with indian style. I like how they have privacy curtains between the tables so you can have a more intimate dinner if it's a special night, or pull back the curtain if you feel social with the others around you. Really friendly staff who are just as unique and interesting as the atmosphere and the food. Prices are not bad, they are comparable to most other restaurants. If you want fast food prices, go find a drive thru, but I guarantee, if you come here you will get great quality food and have a good time too.
